NRA Training
There are many NRA Instructors in the club certified to teach NRA courses:
- Home Firearm Safety
- Basic Pistol
- Personal Protection in the Home
- Personal Protection Outside the Home
- Basic Rifle
- Basic Shotgun
- Shot Shell and Metallic Cartridge Reloading
We also can offer NRA Range Safety Officer training and NRA Instructor Certification for any of the previously mentioned courses.
The NRA basic courses are 10 to 14 hours in length and cover firearm parts, safe handling, ammunition components, and shooting fundamentals. The NRA First Steps courses, which are 3 to 5 hours in length, focus on the parts, safe handling, and shooting fundamentals of the particular firearm that the student owns (as opposed to the Basic courses which includes many types of firearms). The club offers a free First Steps course quarterly for new members who do not have previous training. Please check the calendar for upcoming dates.
